WEDDINGS

Wedding days come in all shapes and sizes and Softspot Disco has seen most, though there is always something new, which is why we treat every wedding as a unique event.  We will help you plan your perfect day in advance, from the start to the finish.  Our experienced pro wedding specialist DJ can also be your "Master of Ceremony" (MC), to bring continuity of flow to your day.  This planner helps you to consider the main stages for the day that could involve our hire services, and the input of our DJ / MC who can help to make the whole event run smoothly.  Read on to see how our DJ / MC can be the most important person on your wedding day.

After your advance preparations, all weddings start  with the wedding ceremony. So let us take you through the day.

 The wedding ceremony.

Whether a ceremony in a religious venue, civic registry office, or other licensed venue, SOFTSPOT can provide  any sound or lighting systems required throughout your day, and a full mobile disco with DJ / MC for the celebrations.

For the bride and groom this is probably the most important part of the day when you commit yourselves to each other.  This may be in front of a small circle of family and friends, or may be in the venue of your wedding breakfast and celebrations in front of many guests, and those arriving later.

For many of your guests the later parts of the day may be their main event with a chance for family and friends from far and wide to be reunited and meet up and party.

Depending from when your venue is available you may need us to set up our sound, lighting and disco booth all in advance of the day, or at some natural point in a break in proceedings.

We can provide background music and DJ / MC for all or part of the day, and orchestrate your day with music, announcements and other unexpected interventions.  This is why each of our wedding events has a bespoke, no obligation free quote, only after we have discussed your requirements.

The reception.

Still a fairly formal part of proceedings, the reception of your guests may be at the same or different venue to the wedding ceremony. This could be fairly casual or involve the traditional archway made by your guests with the couple meeting and greeting each guest in turn.

A welcome drink of champagne may be included and SOFTSPOT can provide background music for this if desired and our DJ / MC can announce any toasts.  This will usually lead on to the "wedding breakfast" which could be a simple informal meal in a restaurant or hotel, or in a venue such as a marquee.

The wedding breakfast

The so-called "wedding breakfast" is an important part of the day as it brings people together over the sharing of food or a meal, and could be anything from a small private buffet or dinner in a hotel to a massive gathering with many tables in a marquee.

It is likely that the traditional speeches are made during this, and again you may require background music, a microphone and sound system, and an official MC to make announcements.  The cutting of the cake may be made here or later depending on your overall plan.

Cutting the wedding cake

The cutting of the wedding cake is a key moment in any wedding celebration and needs a dramatic announcement and time to let photographers prepare for this dramatic moment.  This may be immediately after the wedding breakfast or at some later time in the days event.  Our experienced wedding DJ / MC will ensure this works perfectly.

The first dance

Without doubt this is one of the most important moments of the day, and often one of the most nervous moments for the bride and groom.  Our SOFTSPOT DJ will use our experience to guide you through your choice and suggest this in advance or use your carefully chosen rehearsed choice.

Photographers and videographers will be all over this and it needs expert announcing and management.  You may wish to show off your dancing skills for the whole song, but if you are less confident you may wish certain family members to join you or even ask everyone else to join you on the dance floor.

Rest-assured your SOFTSPOT DJ / MC is ready for all this. We are prepared to use any cues you give us to invite others to join you on the dance floor. You can tell us in advance of your choice or you may wish to discuss this using our experience.

Party Time!

So here it is!  To many of your guests this will be the part of the day they will remember, making new relationships between families, meeting old friends and long-lost family memories.  SOFTSPOT DISCO recognises that this will be the part of the day on which our DJ / music will be judged.  To this end we will discuss with you in advance the style of party you want and we will be very happy for you to give us a play list to include in the evening, but we suggest you let us decide when to play particular tracks.  We do not use pre-programmed play lists, preferring to work live with the crowd using our experience.  We are happy to provide your guests with request forms to fill in and give to our DJ who will do their best to include these.

Depending on the age-range of the crowd it may be that the early part of the evening needs to keep the younger kids happy with traditional children's songs, current charts for teenagers, provide main-stream party and disco music for the main, and possibly going more nightclub music for later for the clubbers.  our DJ's are very experienced at gauging this during the evening, and can provide a vast range from our collection of  1000's of tracks from the golden oldies to the current chart and clubbing trends.

THE LAST DANCE

Last but not least, the "last dance" is a very important closing moment to your event.  You may already have chosen this with us in advance, or you could leave it to our DJ to decide based on the mood of the crowd at that moment. Rest assured, we will deliver this with perfect timing and style.
